MOOD DISORDERS

"If we only wanted to be happy, it would be easy; but we want to be happier than other people, which is almost always difficult, since we think them happier than they are."

-Charles de Montesquiei

understanding mood disorders

A mental health condition that primarily affects your emotional state. It’s a disorder in which you experience long periods of extreme happiness, extreme sadness or both. Certain mood disorders involve other persistent emotions, such as anger and irritability.

WHY THE CURRENT APPROACH FAILS?

The world of mood disorder literature has been shown to be the most dishonest category out there. Pharmaceutical companies backing funding their own studies and intentionally selecting the small subgroup of studies that partially validate their claims is what the literature consists of. As a society we hand out anti-depressants and anti-anxiolytics like candy and patients love it because if you're depressed you're not likely going to want to

make physical lifestyle changes.
