dysautonomia

"It is easier to invent the future than to predict it."

-Stephen Covey

WHAT IS
dysautonomia?

An umbrella term used to describe several different medical conditions that cause a malfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System. The Autonomic Nervous System controls the "automatic" functions of the body that we do not consciously think about, such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, dilation and constriction of the pupils of the eye, kidney function, and temperature control.

WHY THE CURRENT APPROACH FAILS?

Dysautonomia can be attributed to a wide range of potential mechanisms. We live in a world where niching down to the most minuscule of things has become the standard of healthcare. What this leads to is a patient that has to bounce around from one provider to the next to try and unravel the web of chronic illness in hopes that all those providers are collaborating behind the scenes in order to find a solution. How often do you

think that actually happens?
