chronic fatigue syndrome

"The secret to getting ahead is getting started."

-Mark  Twain

understanding chronic fatigue syndrome

A complicated disorder characterized by extreme fatigue that lasts for at least six months and that can't be fully explained by an underlying medical condition. The fatigue worsens with physical or mental activity, but doesn't improve with rest.

Chronic fatigue like most chronic illnesses can be attributed to a wide range of potential mechanisms. We live in a world where niching down to the most minuscule of things has become the standard of healthcare. What this leads to is a patient that has to bounce around from one provider to the next to try and unravel the web of chronic illness in hopes that all those providers are collaborating behind the scenes in order to find a solution. How often do you think that actually happens?
